A shikibuton, also known as a Japanese futon, 
is a traditional mattress designed to be placed on the floor. 
The term shikibuton means ‘futon to spread out in 
Japanese, which reflects its use: it is spread out for sleeping, 
then easily folded and stored during the day. The traditional shikibuton 
is filled with cotton, but our products are 
filled with a modern synthetic material to reduce 
their weight and cost, while offering similar support.
